Shrimp & Grits/Jekyll

So...about the Shrimp & Grits Festival.....not exactly what we were expecting. We were pretty bummed about it. There weren't a lot of people selling food + long lines to get food/drinks + random booths selling toe rings (when did those come back?) + not enough shrimp and grits dishes = sad pandas (Wes and I).

The day was not a total loss, however. The festival was right next to the hotel we spent our wedding night: The Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Since we did not have our camera when we stayed, there were no pictures. So here is the cottage that we stayed in:

(We didn't have this whole place to ourselves...just one room.)

Here are some of the views we had from the room:

And here's a cute little sea turtle stepping stone at the GA Sea Turtle Center http://www.georgiaseaturtlecenter.org/ :

All in all, a pretty good day on Jekyll--plus it was a great day to be with my hubby!

Sad! I will never forget the boil we went to when we were there! Fun! And your yummy eggs and grits after a few too many drinks in college! YUM!

A shrimp and grits festival sounds rad to me. I definitely need to come to the south!!
